Assalamualaikum and very good evening to Dr. Tan and all my fellow friends.
We are strongly disagree with timeline English should be only medium in design.
I’m Noor Baizura Binti Zainal as a first speaker want to talk about not only English
can be medium in design. Let me introduce to my team members Nur Shaqila Binti
Rozhak as a second speaker, she will talk about the variety of language and third speaker Wan Noor Amalini Binti Wan Deris
she will talk about , language can make our design go to internationally and
the last speaker Fatin Isma Binti Ibrahim
she will talk about not only English
language can be use in our communication.
Actually I disagree with point of
first speaker in affirmative group because for me not only English can be the
medium in design but Bahasa Melayu also
can be medium in design especially in Malaysia. Bahasa Melayu is our language,
it’s our duty to uphold it. If we indirectly using English , what will happened
to Bahasa Melayu? For me, practice make
perfect , we should practice our language ,so that, our language can be seen by people outside.
Other than that, it’s make easier for student from rural and non-English speaking background to understand the subject
( especially Malay student). If they
cannot understand English in the first place, how they going to understand the
design concept. What are we all know now, Bahasa Melayu also has been international
language, it’s the same level with English language, so that , we must study
design in our language. For those who are not perfect in English, we don’t be
shame because that are not the serious problem.
What we can see here as the example people in Japan are uphold
their language. They don’t want using English language but their country grow up successful without using
English language.
Lastly, I strongly protest the
timeline that English should be only medium in design.
